Bro. Willie will, this month, be celebrating the 40 year anniversary of his initiation into Freemasonry.

It is often said at installations that visiting other Lodges is “The Lifeblood” of Scottish Freemasonry.

If this is true then Willie Hamilton must be the heart of Lodge Sir George Cathcart.

He averages three visits every week in addition to his commitments to his Mother Lodge.

Willie is a  “well kent” face not only in the Province of Renfrewshire East

But also Kilwinning, Ayrshire, Glasgow, and Lanarkshire (both Wards).

Willie was Initiated 5th April 1972/ Passed 19th April/ Raised 3rd May/

and advanced 1st Nov.

Since then he has also served the Lodge well in various offices:-

Director of Music, Marshall, Chaplain, Sword Bearer (Twice)

Bible Bearer (Twice) Architect (Three times) Junior Deacon (Four Times)

Then finding his preferred office,  Director of Ceremonies (Fourteen Times)

Only vacating this office at the insistence of six different Masters who wanted him for their Depute Master.

Best wishes from all at 617 we hope to see you again, same time, same place in 10 years for your 50th
